The Digitization Clause
The DPDPA applies to "digital personal data". However, there is a famous example in the Act: if you collect paper forms and then scan them into a computer, that is now digital personal data and the DPDPA applies.
💡 Example
A hospital collects patient forms on paper. If they store them in a physical file cabinet, the DPDPA does not apply. But if they scan those forms and save them on their server, the DPDPA applies to that data.
